Chariot Ltd. has been awarded the Rissana offshore license in Morocco by the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM).

Rissana covers about 8,489 sq km and surrounds the offshore area of Chariot's existing Lixus offshore license, where Chariot concluded successful drilling operations at Anchois field, including significant new gas discoveries (OGJ Online, Jan. 10, 2022). The Rissana award provides additional potential running room on-trend with the Anchois gas discovery, the company said.

Initial minimum license commitment is acquisition of a 2D seismic survey.

Chariot is operator of the license with 75% interest. ONHYM holds the remaining 25%.
