Chariot Ltd. spudded the OBA-1 well on the Dartois prospect in the Loukos onshore license, onshore Morocco.

Dartois is in a different reservoir fairway and has a different trapping style to the Gaufrette prospect drilled by the RZK-1 well (OGJ Online, May 2, 2024).

Dartois is targeting 12 bcf best estimate recoverable prospective resources, and a successful prospect could potentially unlock a trend of prospects with combined 20 bcf best estimate recoverable resources, the company said.

Loukos covers about 1,371 sq km and lies adjacent to Chariot’s Lixus and Rissana offshore licenses, the former of which contains the Anchois gas discovery and development project.

Chariot is operator of the license with 75% interest. The Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) holds the remaining 25%.
