The  international rig count for July reached 1,138 units, a decline of 24 from July  and an increase of 130 from August 2018, according to Baker Hughes data (OGJ  Online, Aug. 13, 2019).
The  international offshore rig count for August was 244, down 11 units from July and  up 32 units from August 2018.
The  worldwide rig count for August was 2,206, down 32 units from July and down 72 units  from August 2018.
The  average US rig count for August was 926, down 29 units from July and down 124 units  from August 2018.
Europe  is down 7 units with 193 in August and up 108 units year-over-year. Effective  June 7, Ukraine has been added to the Baker Hughes International Rig Count.
Latin  America is down 7 units from the previous month at 194 and up 2 units  year-over-year.
The  Asia-Pacific region is down 6 units to 220 and down 5 units from its year-ago  average.
The  Middle East is down 8 units month-over-month to 416 and up 14 units  year-over-year.
The  average Canadian rig count for August was 142, up 21 units from July and down 78  units from the 220 counted in August 2018.
