The international rig count for October reached 1,130 units, a decline of a single unit from September and an increase of 113 from October 2018, according to Baker Hughes data.

The international offshore rig count for October was 242, unchanged from September and up 35 units from October 2018.

The worldwide rig count for October was 2,123, down 18 from September and down 148 from October 2018.

The average US rig count for October was 848, down 30 from September and down 214 from October 2018.

Europe was down 1 unit with 175 in October and up 83 units year-over-year. Effective June 7, Ukraine has been added to the Baker Hughes International Rig Count.

Latin America is unchanged from the previous month with 189 units and down 4 units year-over-year.

The Asia-Pacific region is unchanged at 226 units month-over-month and up 5 units from its year-ago average.

The Middle East is down a single unit month-over-month to 424 and up 20 units year-over-year.

The average Canadian rig count for October was 145, up 13 from September and down 47 from October 2018.
