The  international rig count for September reached 1,131 units, a decline of 7 from  August and an increase of 127 from September 2018, according to Baker Hughes  data (OGJ  Online, Sept. 7, 2019).
The  international offshore rig count for September was 242, down 2 units from August  and up 38 units from September 2018.
The  worldwide rig count for September was 2,141, down 65 from August and down 117  from September 2018.
The  average US rig count for September was 878, down 48 from August and down 175  from September 2018.
Europe  was down 17 units with 176 in September and up 90 units year-over-year.  Effective June 7, Ukraine has been added to the Baker Hughes International Rig  Count.
Latin  America is down 5 units from the previous month at 189 and down 3 units  year-over-year.
The  Asia-Pacific region is up 6 units to 226 and up 4 units from its year-ago  average.
The  Middle East is up 9 units month-over-month to 425 and up 30 units  year-over-year.
The  average Canadian rig count for September was 132, down 10 from August and down  69 from September 2018.
