Tullow awards contract rig for work offshore Ghana

Tullow Ghana Ltd. let a conditional award to Maersk Drilling for use of the Maersk Venturer drillship for a development drilling campaign and additional services at the TEN and Jubilee fields, offshore Ghana.

Maersk Venturer is an ultra-deepwater, high-specification 7th generation drillship delivered in 2014. It is currently warm-stacked in Las Palmas, Spain, after finishing a campaign in Ghana for Tullow in 2020.

The final contract, conditional upon certain regulatory conditions, is expected to begin in this year’s second quarter with a duration of 4 years. The value of the contract is estimated at $370 million, excluding the value of the additional services provided and performance bonuses. The operation will be supported by Rigworld.
