Equinor gets green light to drill Ginny, Toppand prospects

Equinor Energy has been granted consent by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for exploration drilling in the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea.

Equinor Energy has been granted consent by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for exploration drilling in the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea.

The operator will drill well 6407/9-13 (Ginny prospect) in Block 6407/9 in Norwegian Sea production license 1060 in 270 m of water. Drilling will be conducted by the West Hercules semisubmersible drilling rig and is expected to last 27 days.

Equinor operates the license with 40% interest. Partners are OKEA ASA 40% and Chrysaor Norge AS 20%.

Well 35/10-7 S (Toppand prospect) will be drilled in Block 35/10 in North Sea production license 630 in 354 m of water. Drilling will be conducted by the West Hercules semisubmersible drilling rig and is expected to last a minimum of 30 days.

Equinor operates the license in a 50-50 partnership with Wellesley Petroleum AS.
