Drilling of exploration well 1-VID-1-ES (Vida) targeting prospective sandstone reservoirs in the São Mateus Formation in Block ES-T-487, Espírito Santo Basin, Brazil, has begun. Upon reaching 1,800 m total depth, the rig will de-mobilize and wireline will subsequently obtain pressure and fluid samples over target intervals, partner Petro-Victory Energia Ltd said.

Petro-Victory has 50% working interest in Block ES-T-487 with operator Imetame Energia Ltd (50%).

Volumetrics and internal mapping estimate 855,000 bbl mean recoverable resources. Over 2.5 million bbl prospective resources are mapped within the proximity of Vida.

In Carapitanga and Andorinha fields, environmental permits have been requested for wells and workovers to achieve an intended 1,000 b/d of oil by fourth-quarter 2021. In the first quarter, production from the fields averaged about 24 b/d of oil net to Petro-Victory from three wells in Andorinha and one in Carapitanga.

In the Oeste de Canoas Ltd.-operated Sao Joao field, where PetroVictory holds a 50% interest, a workover rig has been contracted for re-entry and completion of SJ-01, SJ-06, and SJ-11 for production in second quarter 2020.
