Lundin granted North Sea drilling permit

Lundin Energy Norway has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for an appraisal well in North Sea production license PL 167.

Well 16/1-34 A—the tenth in the license—will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling rig about 6 km northeast of Ivar Aasen field. The area in the license consists of part of Block 16/1.

Lundin Energy Norway’s working interest in the license will increase to 40% from 20% and operatorship will be transferred to Lundin from Equinor Energy AS on closing of the transaction agreed in December 2020.
