Lundin Energy Norway AS has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for wildcat well 6306/9-1 in Norwegian Sea production license (PL) 886, about 72 km east of Ormen Lange field.
The well is the first exploration in the license and will be drilled by the Deepsea Stavanger drilling rig. The area in the license consists of parts of Blocks 6306/6, 6306/8, and 6306/9.
Lundin is operator at PL 886 (60%) with partners Spirit Energy Norway AS (20%) and Petoro AS (20%).
