MOL Norge AS received a permit from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill well 2/9-6 S in production license 617 in the North Sea. The area in this license consists of part of Block 2/9.
The exploration well—the first in the license—will be drilled from the Maersk Integrator drilling rig about 31 km east of Valhall field after it concludes drilling production well 16/1-D-17 for Aker BP ASA on Ivar Aasen field in North Sea production license 001B.
MOL Norge AS is operator of the license with 40% interest. Partners are Wintershall DEA Norge AS (30%) and OMV (Norge) AS (30%).
