Centennial Resource Development accelerates leadership changes

Centennial Resource Development Inc., Denver, will implement its leadership transition plan, effective Apr. 1 as Mark G. Papa, chairman and chief executive officer, has elected to accelerate the timing of his retirement to Mar. 31.

Centennial Resource Development Inc., Denver, will implement its leadership transition plan, effective Apr. 1 as Mark G. Papa, chairman and chief executive officer, has elected to accelerate the timing of his retirement to Mar. 31 (OGJ Online, Feb. 25, 2020).  Papa, who has served as the company’s chairman and chief executive officer since 2016, had previously expected to retire effective May 31.

Current director Steven J. Shapiro has been named non-executive chairman. Sean R. Smith, current vice-president and chief operating officer, has been appointed to chief executive officer and to the board, and Matt R. Garrison has been appointed as vice-president and chief operating officer.
