John Loeffelbein was named chief operating officer of Infinity Energy Resources Inc., Overland Park, Kan.
Loeffelbein is a member of Core Energy LLC, which owns properties currently targeted for acquisition by Infinity. The company expects to purchase existing production and mineral rights to oil and gas properties in central Kansas that cover more than 11,000 contiguous acres. The deal includes existing production equipment, access to existing 3D seismic data, one existing horizontal producing well, one horizontal saltwater injection well, two conventional saltwater disposal wells, as well as one conventional, vertical producing well producing from the Reagan Sand Zone from a depth of 3,600 ft.
Following the deal’s closing—expected by yearend and subject to financing—Infinity plans to drill at least six conventional production wells on the properties.
