Turkish Petroleum extends contract for Sakarya Phase 3 commissioning

Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center AS (TP-OTC) has further extended the contract to Subsea7 for Sakarya Phase 3 in the Black Sea, offshore Türkiye.
The additional scope covers towing and mooring line installation and connection activities related to the commissioning of the development’s floating production unit in 2028. Project management and engineering will be led from Subsea7's office in Istanbul, Türkiye, with work commencing immediately.
The third phase of Sakarya development aims to connect the recently discovered Goktepe field to the Phase 3 floating production unit (FPU).
Sakarya lies about 170 km offshore the western Black Sea in Block AR/TPO/KD/C26-C27-D26-D27 in 2,150 m of water. It is Türkiye’s largest-ever natural gas discovery and contains 405 billion cu m (bcm) proven gas reserves. It was discovered in August 2020 and is being developed in three phases by Turkish Petroleum (TPAO).
TPAO is operator of the field and holds 100% interest.
