Turkish Petroleum lets Sakarya Phase 3 EPCI contract
Turkish Petroleum OTC let a contract to Saipem as part of the extension of Sakarya gas field's third phase of development in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
Saipem’s scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of three additional pipelines for a total of about 153 km, with associated subsea structures, to connect new natural gas reserve recently discovered at Goktepe field to Sakarya Phase 3 infrastructure.
Goktepe field lies in 2,200 m of water about 80 km from Sakarya Phase 3 field which is about 170 km offshore the western Black Sea in Block AR/TPO/KD/C26-C27-D26-D27 in 2,150 m of water.
The third phase of development entails a new dedicated floating production unit (FPU), fed by 27 wells in Sakarya and Amasra fields, connected by a new trunkline to the onshore infrastructure in Filyos, on the Turkish Black Sea coast. The new infrastructure is aimed at increasing production.
The contract with Saipem has a duration of about 2.5 years and will be managed in continuity with the contract signed in September 2025 for Sakarya Phase 3 development.
The offshore campaign will be conducted by Saipem's Castorone pipelay vessel in second-half 2027. The company values the contract at about $425 million.
