Turkish Petroleum extends contract for Sakarya Phase 3
Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center AS (TP-OTC) has extended a contract to Subsea7 for work on Sakarya field development in the Black Sea, offshore Türkiye.
The extension covers the third phase of Sakarya development, which aims to connect the recently discovered Goktepe field to the Phase 3 floating production unit (FPU).
The scope of work comprises engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of about 20 km of flexibles, 120 km of umbilicals, a rigid production riser, and associated subsea equipment in water depths of 2,200 m.
Project management and engineering will be coordinated through the Subsea7 office in Istanbul. Offshore activities are expected in 2027 and 2028.
Sakarya lies about 170 km offshore the western Black Sea in Block AR/TPO/KD/C26-C27-D26-D27 in 2,150 m of water. It is Türkiye’s largest-ever natural gas discovery and contains 405 billion cu m (bcm) proven gas reserves. It was discovered in August 2020 and is being developed in three phases by Turkish Petroleum (TPAO).
TPAO is operator of the field and holds 100% interest.
