Pluspetrol sent its first natural gas exports from Vaca Muerta in Neuquén basin, Argentina, to Petrobras Operaciones SA (POSA). POSA imported 100,000 cu m of gas so the companies could test the commercial and technical soundness of the operation.

The gas was transported via pipeline from Argentina to Bolivia and then on to Brazil. Under terms of the commercial and operational contract, Petrobras can import as much 2 million cu m/day.

POSA holds a 33.6% non-operated interest in Rio Neuquén field in the provinces of Rio Neuquén and Rio Negro. The production of Rio Neuquén comes mainly from unconventional reservoirs (tight gas) of the Punta Rosada and Lajas formations.

In December 2024, Pluspetrol acquired majority stakes in strategic blocks in Vaca Muerta including Bajo del Choique-La Invernada, Los Toldos I Sur, Los Toldos II Oeste, and Pampa de las Yeguas. Additionally, it has the areas of Loma Jarillosa Este and Puesto Silva Oeste, entirely operated by Pluspetrol, and Aguada Villanueva and Meseta Buena Esperanza, where Pluspetrol operates with YPF SA as a partner.
