UK launches oil and gas data repository

The UK Oil and Gas Authority has published 130 terabytes of oil and gas well, geophysical, field, and infrastructure data from the UK Continental Shelf. It called the launch of the country’s first Oil and Gas National Data Repository “what is believed to be one of the largest ever single open releases of data.”

The UK Oil and Gas Authority has published 130 terabytes of oil and gas well, geophysical, field, and infrastructure data from the UK Continental Shelf.

It called the launch of the country’s first Oil and Gas National Data Repository “what is believed to be one of the largest ever single open releases of data.”

The data cover more than 12,500 wellbores, 5,000 seismic surveys, and 3,000 pipelines.
