Strike Energy Ltd., Perth, reported a 41% upgrade of gas reserves in West Erregulla field onshore North Perth basin permit EP469 in Western Australia.

Independent consultant Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc. certified the increase to 422 petajoules of 2P (proved and probable) sales gas reserves using information gleaned from the West Erregulla-3 (WE3) appraisal well.

The upgrade incorporates petrophysical results of logs from WE3 into the consultant’s subsurface modelling and resource estimation within the main Kingia sandstone reservoir.

The result includes an increase in quality and thickness of Kingia reservoir properties, conversion of previous contingent resources in the northern part of the field, and extension of the field’s boundary to the northwest.

The review increased the size of the combined 2P reserves and the 2C contingent resources of the field by 6% to 452 petajoules.

Strike is operator of EP 469 in a 50-50 partnership with Warrego Energy Ltd.
