Spirit Energy Norway AS has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for production license 719 in the Barents Sea.
Well 7321/8-2 S, the first exploration well in the license, will be drilled from the Leiv Eiriksson drilling facility about 60 km west of the Equinor-operated 7324/8-1 (Wisting) discovery (OGJ Online, Dec. 2, 2019).
The area in the license consists of parts of Blocks 7321/8 and 7321/9.
Spirit Energy is operator with 50%. Partners are Lukoil Overseas North Shelf AS 30% and Aker BP ASA 20%.
