Spirit Energy Norway AS has been granted a central North Sea drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Spirit Energy Norway AS has been granted a central North Sea drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Well 16/1-33 S—the first exploration well to be drilled in production license 780—will be drilled about 5 km north of Ivar Aasen field and 205 km west of Stavanger by the Leiv Eiriksson semi-submersible drilling facility.

The area in the license consists of part of Block 16/1.

Spirit Energy is operator with 60%. Aker BP ASA holds the remaining 40%.
