Equinor Energy AS has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate for drilling in the Barents Sea.
Exploration well 7117/4-1 will be drilled in production license (PL) 1238 by the COSL Prospector semisubmersible drilling unit. Drilling is expected to begin in July 2025.
Equinor is operator of the license with 40% interest. Partners are Aker BP ASA (20%), Petoro AS (20%), and Vår Energi ASA (20%).
