Equinor Energy AS has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.
Well 7220/5-4 will be drilled by the COSL Prospector semisubmersible drilling rig in production license 532. Drilling will begin in June.
Equinor is operator of the license with 46.3% interest. Partners are Vår Energi ASA (30%) and Petoro AS (23.7%).
