Ineos lets contract to Maersk for UK North Sea well

Ineos Oil & Gas UK has let a contract to Maersk Drilling for use of the Maersk Resolve harsh environment jack up rig for drilling and hydraulic stimulation at the Breagh Alpha A11 well, Block 42/13, in the UK North Sea.

Ineos Oil & Gas UK has let a contract to Maersk Drilling for use of the Maersk Resolve harsh environment jack up rig for drilling and hydraulic stimulation at the Breagh Alpha A11 well, Block 42/13, in the UK North Sea. Breagh natural gas field lies 65 km northeast of the UK in 194 ft of water.

This will be the rig’s third consecutive campaign drilling Zechstein formations.

The contract includes four additional one-well options and is expected to begin in third-quarter 2021 in direct continuation of the rig’s current work scope. Estimated contract duration is 140 days and is valued at about $11.3 million.

The rig is currently operating for Spirit Energy in the UK sector of the North Sea.
