OMV (Norge) AS let a contract to Maersk Drilling to drill one exploration well in the Ommadawn prospect in North Sea license 970, offshore Norway. The contract further includes an option to add about 28 days of well testing.
The contract, for use of the Maersk Integrator low-emission jackup rig, is expected to begin in mid-2021 with an estimated duration of 52 days. The contract value is $14.3 million, according to the service provider, including mobilization, but excluding integrated services provided and potential performance bonuses.
Maersk Integrator is an ultra-harsh environment CJ70 XLE jack-up rig designed for year-round operations in the North Sea and is currently undergoing a series of upgrades to combine hybrid power with low levels of NOx emissions. Data intelligence will be added to further reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The performance bonus schemes included in the contract with OMV are based on rewarding reduced fuel consumption and reduced NOx emissions during the drilling operations.
OMV is operator of PL 970 (50%) with partners Neptune Energy Norge AS (30%) and Petoro AS (20%).
