Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. Sdn. Bhd. (BSP) exercised the option to add exploration drilling of one deepwater well to the work scope of the Maersk Viking drillship.
The contract extension, part of the contract let earlier in November, has an estimated duration of 35 days, with work expected to begin in May 2021 in direct continuation of the rig’s plan to drill one deepwater exploration well offshore Brunei Darussalam (OGJ Online, Nov. 11, 2020).
The contract value of the extension is $7.1 million, including additional services provided.
