ConocoPhillips granted Norwegian Sea drilling permit

ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS has been granted drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for a well in license 1009 in the Norwegian Sea.

Well 6507/4-1, the first exploration well to be drilled in the license, will be drilled about 27 km southwest of Skarv field by the Leiv Eiriksson semisubmersible drilling rig after it concludes drilling of wildcat well 16/1-33 S for Spirit Energy Norway AS in production license 780 (OGJ Online, June 22, 2020).

The area in license 1009 consists of parts of Blocks 6507/4 and 6506/6.

ConocoPhillips is operator with 65% interest. PGNiG Upstream Norway AS holds the remaining 35%.
