Equinor Energy AS received a drilling permit for well 7322/6-1 S in Barents Sea production license (PL) 722 by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD). The license lies about 350 km north of Hammerfest and 50 km west of the 7324/7-2 (Hansen) and 7324/8-1 (Wisting) discovery wells and consists of parts of Blocks 7322/6 and 7323/4.
The well will be drilled by the Deepsea Nordkapp semisubmersible rig after concluding drilling appraisal well 25/2-22 S for Aker BP ASA in PL442.
Equinor is operator of PL722 (45%) with partners Aker BP ASA (20%), Lundin Energy Norway AS (20%), and Sval Energi AS (15%).
