CNOOC will tie in production from two new infill wells drilled in Weizhou 6-12 fields in Block 22/12, Beibu Gulf, offshore China, into the existing production facility, partner Horizon Oil Ltd.said Dec. 11. The wells are expected to deliver a combined total rate of 1,900 b/d.

The drilling program targeted undeveloped reserves in the WZ6-12 area. Well WZ6-12-A11 was drilled in the producing WZ6-12 North field and well WZ6-12 A3S2 was drilled in last year’s WZ6-12 M1 discovery.

Both wells were drilled from the existing WZ6-12 platform with WZ6-12 A3S2 sidetracked from an existing wellbore and WZ6-12-A11 drilled from a recently completed rig slot extension. They will provide reservoir data to determine production and reservoir performance in both the WZ6-12 N and WZ6-12 M1 oil pools.

CNOOC is operator in Block 22/12 (51%) with partners Horizon Oil (Beibu) Ltd. (26.95%), Roc Oil (19.60%), and Majuko Corp. (2.45%).
