Field Start Ups
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted consent to start production from Equinor-operated Utgard field. Production is expected to begin in September. Utgard, discovered in 1982, is a gas-condensate field on the Norwegian and UK continental shelf.
BPTT's Cassia compression project off Trinidad and Tobago remains on track. Once completed and on production, the Cassia project will enable BPTT to access and produce low-pressure gas from currently producing fields in the Greater Cassia Area.
Gbetiokun oil field offshore Nigeria has come on stream through an early production facility, reports Eland Oil & Gas, Aberdeen. Initial production will rise to 12,000 b/d from the Gbetiokun-1 and Gbetiokun-3 wells in the southwestern area of OML 40.
Shell Offshore expects production to begin in late 2021 from deepwater PowerNap oil and gas field in the gulf. It has made the final investment decision to develop the field with three subsea wells flowing into manifolds tied back to the Olympus hub.
Oil production has begun from Haliba field on Abu Dhabi’s southeast border. Al Dhafra Petroleum, a joint venture of ADNOC and a combine of Korea National Oil Corp. and GS Energy, expects first-phase production to reach 40,000 b/d by yearend.
Production has begun from Culzean gas condensate field in the Central Graben area of the UK North Sea. Development by Total SA and partners involved the drilling of six wells and construction of three bridge-linked platforms and a floating storage and offloading unit.
Cooper Energy Ltd., Adelaide, has signed natural gas supply agreements with Sydney distributor and retailer AGL Energy Ltd. for production from Cooper’s Sole field offshore Gippsland basin and its Casino Henry operations in the offshore Otway basin.
