Cardinal Midstream expands Delaware basin natural gas pipeline footprint
Cardinal Midstream Partners, Dallas, Tex., has expanded its Delaware basin footprint through completion of 36 miles of new large-diameter, high- and low-pressure natural gas gathering pipelines in Eddy County, NM, and Loving County, Tex.
The energy midstream company now owns and operates about 150 miles of natural gas infrastructure in the core of the oil and gas producing Delaware basin.
The company also noted plans to expand its Pecos River processing complex in Loving County, Tex. Scheduled for completion in early 2026, the project, currently under construction, is expected to add 220 MMcfd of natural gas processing capacity, increasing Cardinal’s total capacity to 360 MMcfd with flexibility for further expansion to meet growing market demand, the company said.
Cardinal Midstream Partners was founded in 2022 through an initial capital commitment of $300 million from EnCap Flatrock Midstream. The company acquired Medallion Midstream’s Delaware basin natural gas and processing business in 2023.
