Cooper Energy Ltd., Adelaide, has begun gas supply from Sole field in eastern Bass Strait into the main Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) from Victoria to New South Wales.
The company said this is part of the second phase of commissioning of the onshore APA Group-operated Orbost gas processing plant.
Initial volumes delivered to the EGP are small, variable, and influenced by commissioning requirements, the company said. Sales to market on Mar. 29 were 21 terajoules with production rates up to 50 terajoules/day.
The company added that the rates will continue to be variable as commissioning proceeds towards the plant production test which requires a sustained rate of 68 terajoules/day.
Commencement of a firm supply from Sole field to fulfill term gas agreements will begin after completion of the plant production test.
