QatarEnergy lets EPCC contract for North Field West LNG

Technip Energies will replicate LNG train designs for the North Field South project.
Feb. 25, 2026

QatarEnergy has let a contract to Technip Energies related to the onshore North Field West (NFW) project.

Technip Energies will provide engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) services related to two LNG trains, each with a capacity of 8 million tonnes/year (tpy). The trains will replicate the two under construction by Technip Energies and Consolidated Contractors Co. (CCC) for the North Field South (NFS) project.

NFW will produce about 16 million tpy of LNG, and together with North Field East (NFE) and NFS projects, will increase Qatar’s total LNG export capacity to 142 million tpy from 77 million tpy.

Like NFE and NFS, NFW is expected to capture and store CO2.
