Petrobras appoints new chief energy transition, sustainability officer

The board of directors of Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) elected Angélica Garcia Cobas Laureano as chief energy transition and sustainability officer. Aligned with the term of other members of the executive board, her term will expire Apr, 13, 2027, the company said in a release July 11.

Angélica Garcia Cobas Laureano has 45 years' experience, including 37 years working for Petrobras, 21 of which are in leadership positions, the company said. She has worked across the materials, downstream, gas, and energy divisions, and at one point served as president of Gaspetro, a Petrobras subsidiary in partnership with Mitsui Gás SA.

After retiring from Petrobras, she worked as a consultant on natural gas projects and is currently president of Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil SA.
