Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has appointed the company’s chief exploration and production officer, Fernando Borges, as interim chief executive officer of the company, succeeding José Mauro Coelho.
Coelho, who was appointed chief executive officer for a 1-year term, succeeding Joaquim Silva e Luna, in April 2022, also resigned his position on the company board of directors, the company said in a release June 20 (OGJ Online, Apr. 16, 2021; Apr. 15, 2022).
Borges will serve as interim chief until a new chief executive is elected and takes office, the company said in a release June 20.
