Trillion Energy International Inc., an oil and natural gas producer in Turkey, has appointed Al Thorsen as chief operating officer.
Thorsen will be leading the production enhancement initiatives, with the priority being to increase production of the South Akçakoca Sub-Basin (SASB) natural gas field wells offshore Turkey, including for the five new wells drilled last year, as well as future planned workovers and sidetracks on several older wells, the company said.
Thorsen has served as operations manager in Turkey for Valeura Energy Inc. and led a production team at Journey Energy. He has held positions with Rio Alto Exploration and has served as vice-president of operations at Zargon Oil and Gas and Orleans Energy. He has also served as chief operating officer of Central Petroleum.
SASB is a conventional gas field in the southwestern Black Sea consisting of conventional natural gas pools ]in shallow water. The fields have produced over 43 bcf since initial development in 2007.
