Trillion Energy International Inc. spud the Guluc-2 well at SASB natural gas field, offshore Turkey in the Black Sea, after completing the West Akcakoca-1 well 17 ½-in. diameter section to 1,008 m depth.

Guluc-2 will be drilled to total depth and then perforated and tested. Upon completion of Guluc-2, the rig will move back and complete West Akcakoca-1. Both are long-reach directional wells being drilled from the Akçakoca platform and targeting gas reserves at both the east and west perimeter of Akcakoca gas field.

Gas will be sold to market almost immediately after completion of the wells. Guluc-2 is expected to commence production in January 2023, while West Akcakoca-1 is expected to start production by March 2023. Gas sale revenues generated from these wells will be used for further field development.

After the wells at the Akçakoca platform are completed, the rig will move to the East Ayazli tripod. Trillion plans to drill five wells at SASB during its 2022-23 drilling program (OGJ Online, Nov. 23, 2022).

Trillion Energy owns 49% of SASB field.
