Bonterra Energy Corp., Calgary, has named Patrick Oliver to succeed George Fink as president and chief executive officer of the company.

Bonterra Energy Corp., Calgary, has named Patrick Oliver to succeed George Fink as president and chief executive officer of the company. Fink, who will retire as of Sept. 6, will remain on the board of directors, and Oliver will join the board of directors as of that date.

Oliver holds over 35 years of experience in the Western Canada upstream oil and gas sector. Over the past 20 years, he was involved as chief financial officer and later chief executive officer in the development and sale of four privately owned Birchill companies.

Bonterra was founded in 1998 as a spin out from Comaplex Resources Corp., the gold mining company founded by Fink, who from that time, served as president and chief executive officer. He held the position of chairman of the board until March 2021. Fink is the largest single shareholder in Bonterra (14%) and has indicated that he does not intend to reduce his share ownership interest at the present time.

Bonterra Energy is a conventional oil and gas corporation with operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
