Prairie Provident names interim CEO

Prairie Provident Resources Inc., Calgary, has appointed Patrick R. McDonald as interim chief executive officer. McDonald has served as chairman since March 2011 and continues in that role, the company said in a release Dec. 19.

Prairie Provident Resources Inc., Calgary, has appointed Patrick R. McDonald as interim chief executive officer. McDonald has served as chairman since March 2011 and continues in that role, the company said in a release Dec. 19.

McDonald succeeds R. Anthony Berthelet, who previously served as president and chief executive officer and a director of the company. Berthelet joined Prairie Provident in June 2021 (OGJ Online, June 16, 2021).

McDonald has 40 years of experience in North American upstream and midstream operations and has founded, financed, and managed public and private E&P companies. Since 2003, he has been chief executive officer and a director of Carbon Energy Corp., a company he founded which operates upstream and midstream assets in the Ventura basin of California.
