Devon Energy shuffles executive leadership team

The operator detailed the moves in an Aug. 20 filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Devon Energy Corp. has made changes to its executive leadership team.

Tom Hellman has been named executive vice-president, exploration and production, leading the Anadarko, Eagle Ford, Marcellus, and Rockies business units. Hellman previously served as the operator’s senior vice-president, new ventures.

Robert (Trey) Lowe III has been named executive vice-president, exploration and production, leading the Permian basin business unit. Lowe previously served as Devon’s executive vice-president and chief technology officer.

Kevin Smith has been named executive vice-president and chief technology officer. Smith previously served as Devon’s senior vice-president, subsurface.

The three appointments were effective Aug. 20, the day Devon filed the notice to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

John Raines, the former executive vice-president, exploration and production – Permian, and Michael DeShazer, the former executive vice-president, exploration and production – Anadarko, Eagle Ford, Marcellus, and Rockies, will leave the company as of Sept. 1, 2026, Devon reported.
