CGX Energy Inc., Toronto, has appointed George Davis as chief financial officer, effective July 1, 2022. Davis succeeds the interim chief financial officer, Hill-York Poon, who remain with the company as director of finance. She served in the transitory role since November 2021 (OGJ Online, Nov. 9, 2021).
Paul Langlois has been appointed as exploration manager, effective June 27, 2022.
Davis has over 20 years of financial and leadership experience with publicly listed international companies in a variety of sectors including mining, energy, and infrastructure. Most recently, he was responsible for developing the financial policy and reporting strategy at the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board.
Langlois has over 18 years of exploration and development experience across multiple basins including North America, Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South Asia. He has held various senior positions at Unocal, Chevron, Cobalt, and Tiburon.
CGX is focused on oil exploration in the Guyana-Suriname basin and development of a deepwater port in Berbice, Guyana. The company is currently embarking on the Wei-1 drilling campaign offshore Guyana (OGJ Online, June 17, 2022).
