The Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) has appointed Lisa Baiton as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Tim McMillan. Baiton takes on the new role May 2.
As CEO, Baiton will work with CAPP members to ensure the sector is able to continue providing Canadians, and the world, with secure and responsibly produced energy while progressively working towards achieving Canada's climate commitments.
Baiton is an experienced global investment executive, most recently a member of the global leadership team at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. She led CPP Investments' global public affairs activities across more than 50 countries. Previously, she was vice-president and practice lead, government relations for Environics Communications, worked for the Canadian Bankers Association, and was a policy maker in three Canadian governments.
CAPP represents companies that explore for, develop, and produce natural gas and oil throughout Canada. CAPP's member companies produce about 80% of Canada's natural gas and oil.
