Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has nominated Carlos Alberto Pereira de Oliveira, the company’s chief exploration and production officer, as interim chief executive officer until the election and inauguration of a new chief executive officer, the company said in a release Apr. 12.
Roberto da Cunha Castello Branco was dismissed as a member of the company’s board of directors at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM), which implied his removal from his executive position as Petrobras’s bylaws state that the chief executive officer must be one of the members of the board.
Branco had served as chief executive officer and a board member since January 2019.
