Tullow Oil PLC has appointed Rahul Dhir as chief executive officer and an executive director of the group. Dhir will take up his appointment July 1, at which time Dorothy Thompson, currently executive chair of Tullow, will return to her position as non-executive chair after a limited period of handover.
Thompson was appointed executive chair on a temporary basis following the resignation of Paul McDade, former chief executive officer, and Angus McCoss, former exploration director, from the board in December 2019. (OGJ Online, Dec. 9, 2019).
Dhir is currently chief executive officer of Delonex Energy, an Africa-focused oil and gas company that he founded in 2013. Prior to establishing Delonex, he served as managing director and chief executive officer of Cairn India from 2006 until 2012.
