Talos adds to executive leadership team

Talos Energy Inc. has added to its executive leadership team, appointing Zachary B. Dailey as executive vice-president and chief financial officer, effective Aug. 18, 2025, and William R. Langin as executive vice-president – exploration and development, effective Sept. 29, 2025.
Dailey joins Talos with over 17 years of oil and gas experience, most recently serving as vice-president, controller and chief accounting officer for Marathon Oil Corp. prior to the ConocoPhillips' acquisition (OGJ Online, May 29, 2024).
He spent nearly 10 years at Marathon Oil serving in various leadership roles, including internal audit, business development, planning, operations, chief executive officer advisor, and investor relations. Previously, Dailey held finance leadership roles at LINN Energy, Berry Petroleum Co., and Morgan Keegan & Co.
Gregory M. Babcock will step down as interim chief financial officer. He will continue to serve as vice-president and chief accounting officer (OGJ Online, May 19, 2025).
Langin joins Talos with over 20 years of oil and gas experience, including more than 15 years of exploration and asset development, with technical and commercial leadership roles in the offshore sector. Most recently, he served as vice president, exploration portfolio and technology for Hess Corp. until his departure in connection with its merger with Chevron Corp. (OGJ Online, Oct. 23, 2023).
He began his career at Shell in 2003, serving in various roles, including senior vice-president, west/deepwater exploration, vice-president, exploration – North America and Brazil, and others.
