Petronas farms out partial interest in Bobara PSC offshore Indonesia

Under the agreement, Pertamina will hold a 24.5% participating interest. TotalEnergies holds 24.5% interest with operator Petronas holding the remaining 51%.

Petronas, through wholly-owned subsidiary Petronas E&P Bobara Sdn Bhd, signed a farm-out agreement (FOA) with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Bobara (Pertamina) for the Bobara production sharing contract (PSC) offshore Papua Barat in Eastern Indonesia.

Under the agreement, Pertamina will hold a 24.5% participating interest. TotalEnergies holds 24.5% interest with operator Petronas holding the remaining 51%.

Bobara is a frontier ultra-deepwater block which spans 8,444.49 sq km. It is estimated to hold 6.8 billion boe in potential reserves, Reuters reported in May 2025, citing government estimates.
