Eni, Snam building CNG stations in Italy

Eni SPA and Snam4Mobility have signed a second contract implementing a framework contract signed in May for stations in Italy to refuel vehicles using compressed natural gas. The new contract is for 20 new CNG refueling stations. An earlier contract is for 14 such facilities, with openings due in the first quarter next year.

Eni SPA and Snam4Mobility have signed a second contract implementing a framework contract signed in May for stations in Italy to refuel vehicles using compressed natural gas (CNG).

The new contract is for 20 new CNG refueling stations. An earlier contract is for 14 such facilities, with openings due in the first quarter next year.

Eni said the investment in this work, which will gradually incorporate methane from biological sources, is about €10 million.

About 1,000 of Eni’s 4,400 service stations now offer LPG and methane, of which two sell LNG and 180 sell CNG.
