Aramco lets unconventional stimulation services contract

Aramco has let a stimulation services contract to SLB for its unconventional gas fields.

The 5-year contract encompasses advanced stimulation, well intervention, frac automation, and digital solutions.

Saudi Arabia’s Unconventional Resources Program, launched in 2013, aims to boost gas production to meet domestic needs, displace crude oil in power generation, supply feedstock for petrochemicals, and stimulate regional economies.

In 2023, Aramco produced unconventional tight gas from its South Ghawar operational area. Other unconventional fields include North Arabia for customers in Wa’ad Al-Shamal, and Jafurah, the largest liquid-rich shale gas play in the Middle East.
