HOUSTON, June 3 -- Anadarko Petroleum Corp. "significantly" increased the size of its K2 North discovery with the K2 North No. 2 delineation well, which encountered 165 ft of net oil pay, the company said. The well is about 1 mile northwest of the K2 North No. 1 discovery (OGJ, Nov. 24, 2003, p. 9). The semisubmersible is remaining on location to further delineate the field.

Anadarko holds 100% interest in K2 North field, on Green Canyon Block 518 in the Gulf of Mexico. The field is scheduled to begin production through the Marco Polo platform in 2005, along with production from K2 field immediately to the south in Block 562.

Anadarko currently is completing the first of six pre-drilled development wells from Marco Polo field, which is on schedule for first production in July.
