Pin Oak Energy Partners LLC has acquired 43,000 acres prospective for Utica shale development in northwestern Pennsylvania from SWEPI LP, a wholly owned Shell subsidiary.

The deal boosts Pin Oak’s holdings to 64,000 net deep acres in Ohio and 103,000 net deep acres in Pennsylvania, 99% held by production.

It includes drilled and completed but not producing horizontal Utica shale wells and undrilled well pads.
